Introduction
The Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that honors the state’s top athletes, coaches, and contributors to sports. The organization was founded in 1957 and has inducted more than 500 members into its hall of fame.
The Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame Scholarship is awarded to one high school student athlete each year who exemplifies the ideals of sportsmanship, leadership, and academic excellence. The scholarship is worth $1,000 and can be used to attend any accredited college or university in the United States.
The Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame Board of Directors consists of 12 members who are elected by the general membership. The board meets quarterly to discuss the business of the organization and plan events.
The Arkansas Coaches Hall of Fame was established in 1992 to honor those who have made significant contributions to coaching in the state. As of 2018, there are 97 inductees in the hall of fame.

History
The Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame was founded in 1957 by a group of sports enthusiasts in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The first class of inductees included some of the state’s most famous athletes, including baseball greats Dizzy Dean and Brooks Robinson, football legend Johnny Majors, and basketball star Bailey Howell.
Since then, the Hall of Fame has continued to honor Arkansas’s best athletes, coaches, and contributors to the world of sports. Every year, a new class is inducted at a ceremony held in Hot Springs.
The Hall of Fame also offers scholarships to deserving student-athletes from across the state. These scholarships are made possible through the generosity of donors who support the Hall of Fame’s mission to promote excellence in athletics.

Inductees
The Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame Board meets annually to elect new members. To be eligible, an athlete must have been retired from his or her sport for at least three years. A coach becomes eligible three years after retirement or immediately upon reaching the age of 70. An individual who has made outstanding contributions to sports in Arkansas, but who was not primarily an athlete or coach, may also be elected. The number of individuals elected each year varies according to the judgment of the board.
Nominations are solicited by a statewide committee of sports media representatives, and the ballot is then sent to all living former inductees and current board members for their votes. Any person may nominate an individual for induction into the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame by writing a letter detailing the accomplishments of the nominee and sending it to: ASHOF Nominations Committee, P.O. Scholarship
The Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame Scholarship is awarded to a deserving student athlete each year. The scholarship is sponsored by the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame and the Arkansas coaches Association.
The scholarship is open to any high school senior in Arkansas who has been a varsity letterman in any sport for at least two years. The recipient must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and demonstrate financial need.
The scholarship is worth $1,000 and can be used to cover tuition, room and board, books, or other expenses related to attending college.
Applications for the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame Scholarship are available online and must be submitted by March 1st of each year. more information about the scholarship can be found on the Arkansas coaches Association website.
Board
The Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame Board is a group of dedicated individuals who work to promote and preserve the rich history of sports in the state of Arkansas. The board is responsible for selecting inductees into the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame, as well as overseeing the operations of the museum and education programs. The board is made up of representatives from each major city in Arkansas, as well as at-large members from across the state.
Coaches Hall of Fame
The Coaches Hall of Fame is a prestigious honor reserved for the very best coaches in the state of Arkansas. These are the men and women who have dedicated their lives to making sure that our athletes can compete at the highest levels and achieve success both on and off the field.

Softball Hall of Fame
