The Western New York Softball Hall of Fame members are a who’s who of the sport in the region. The list includes some of the game’s most accomplished players, coaches and contributors.
Buffalo Game:
The Buffalo Game is an annual event that pits two of the city’s most storied sports franchises against each other in a friendly competition. The game is played between the Buffalo Bills and the Buffalo Sabres, with the winner taking home bragging rights for the year.

The New York Sports Hall of Fame is a hall of fame that honors athletes, coaches and contributors who have made significant contributions to sports in New York State. The hall was established in 2012 and its first class was inducted in 2013.

Some of Buffalo’s most famous residents are its Olympians. These athletes have represented the city and the country at the highest levels of competition, bringing home medals and honor to their hometown.
Buffalo Game
The Buffalo Game is a local softball tournament that has been held in the city of Buffalo, New York since the early 1900s. The game is played between two teams of nine players each and is considered to be one of the most important softball games in the country. Many of the greatest players in the history of the sport have come from Buffalo and have been inducted into the National Softball Hall of Fame. Some of the most famous Buffalonians who have played in the Buffalo Game include Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, and Yogi Berra.
New York Sports Hall of Fame
The New York Sports Hall of Fame is a hall of fame that honors athletes, coaches, and other contributors to sports in New York state. The hall of fame was founded in 2012 by the Buffalo News and Sports Illustrated. It is located in Buffalo, New York.
The inaugural class of the New York Sports Hall of Fame was inducted in 2013. The class included former New York Yankees captain Derek Jeter, Basketball Hall of Famer Walt Frazier, Olympic gold medalist Carl Lewis, and baseball player Yogi Berra.
As of 2021, there are over 200 members of the New York Sports Hall of Fame.
Buffalo, NY Olympians
The Buffalo, NY Olympians are a group of athletes who have represented the United States at the Olympic Games. The group includes both men and women, and has been represented at every Summer Olympics since 1984.
The team is made up of athletes from all over the country, but most of them come from the state of New York. The team is based out of Buffalo, and trains at the University at Buffalo.
The team has had great success over the years, winning multiple gold medals. Most recently, they won gold in the 4x400m relay at the 2016 Rio Olympics. They are also proud holders of the world record in that event.
The Buffalo, NY Olympians are a true force to be reckoned with, and we are proud to call them our own!
WNY Baseball Hall of Fame 2021
The Western New York Baseball Hall of Fame will be recognizing some of the greats from our region at their annual induction ceremony this year.
Among the inductees are former Buffalo Bisons and Rochester Red Wings players, as well as a few members of the media who have covered the sport for many years.
Some of the highlights from this year’s class include:
-Player Jim Catfish Hunter, who pitched for both the Bisons and Red Wings during his career;
-Former Bison Denny Neagle, who went on to win an Olympic gold medal with the U.S. team in 2000;
-And Don Colletti, longtime radio voice of the Red Wings.
The ceremony will be held on Saturday, August 21st at Coca-Cola Field in Buffalo.
