The Delaware Sports Hall of Fame was founded in 1957 and continues to honor the greatest athletes, coaches, administrators, and journalists from all sports. The hall is located in Wilmington, Delaware and is home to more than 2,000 inductees.
The Delaware Sports Hall Of Fame inductees 2022 is an award given to athletes and teams that have made significant contributions to the state of Delaware. The first induction ceremony was held in 1947.

Hey everyone! If you’re like me, you love reading about great Delaware sports stories. And now, I’m excited to share some of my favorites with you.
First up is the news that the Delaware Sports Hall of Fame will be hosting its inaugural induction ceremony in 2022. This event will feature inductions for both professional and amateur athletes from all over the state.
And speaking of sports, today we have some breaking news about one of our local teams – the Cincinnati Reds first base coach, Bunny Miller. Turns out he was born in Wilmington and played college ball at Delaware. What’s even more incredible is that he has a record eight World Series championships as a coach!
Last but not least, we have Wilminton Senior High School’s football team who just became 2016 Delco champions! Congratulations to coach Shane McCarthy and his squad on an amazing season!
Delaware Baseball Hall of Fame- 2022
The Delaware Baseball Hall of Fame is set to induct its inaugural class in 2022. The Hall of Fame will honor the state’s rich baseball history, and the many great players and teams that have come from Delaware. Some of the names that will be enshrined in the Hall of Fame include:
-Bunny Miller: A star player for the Wilmington Blue Rocks in the early 1900s, Bunny was one of the first African American players in professional baseball. He went on to have a long career in the Negro Leagues, and was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2006.
-Wilmington Blue Rocks: One of Delaware’s most successful minor league teams, the Blue Rocks have won multiple championships over their long history. They are currently affiliated with the Kansas City Royals, and play their home games at Frawley Stadium in Wilmington.
-First Base Coach Cincinnati Reds: Tom Browning is currently a coach for Major League Baseball’s Cincinnati Reds, but he also has ties to Delaware. He played his college ball at Newark High School before going on to have a successful career as a pitcher in both MLB and Japan.
Delaware High School Football Records
The Delaware High School Football Records are a compilation of the best and most outstanding football performances by high school teams in the state of Delaware. The records were first compiled in 1922, and they continue to be updated on an annual basis.
There are currently four different record categories:
1) Overall team performance
2) Most points scored in a game
3) Most touchdowns in a season
4) Highest winning percentage in a season
The overall team performance category includes records for things like most wins in a season, fewest losses in a season, and most consecutive wins. In terms of individual player records, the most points scored in a game and most touchdowns in a season are both impressive feats. Finally, the highest winning percentage in a season is another great measure of success for any high school football team.
Whether you’re looking at the overall team performance or individual player records, the Delaware High School Football Records provide an interesting snapshot of some of the best football teams and players in the state’s history.
First Base Coach Cincinnati Reds
The Cincinnati Reds have announced that they have hired former Major League Baseball player and coach, Bunny Miller, as their first base coach for the 2022 season.
Bunny Miller played baseball for the Delaware High School team and was inducted into the Delaware Baseball Hall of Fame in 2012. He also played football for the Wilmington Blue Rocks before being drafted by the Chicago Cubs in 1968.
Miller has coached baseball at various levels, including serving as the hitting coach for the Triple-A Iowa Cubs from 1985 to 1986. He also spent time as a roving instructor in the Cubs’ farm system.

Bunny Miller Delaware
Bunny Miller Delaware is an American baseball coach and former player. He played professional baseball for 16 years, including parts of four seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) with the Cincinnati Reds and Chicago White Sox. He also coached minor league baseball and served as a major league scout. After his playing career ended, he was inducted into the Delaware Baseball Hall of Fame in 2022.
Miller was born in Wilmington, Delaware, and attended high school there. He played college baseball at Wesley College. As a senior at Wesley, he was named to the All-American team. He was drafted by the Reds in the fifth round of the 1967 Major League Baseball draft.
He made his MLB debut with the Reds in 1971, appearing in five games as a pinch hitter and second baseman. He appeared in a total of 24 MLB games over parts of four seasons before retiring from playing professionally following the 1974 season. In his MLB career, he had two hits in 28 at bats for a .071 batting average.
After his playing career ended, Miller became a coach. He coached minor league baseball from 1975 to 1983, including stints as manager of Rookie League Billings Mustangs (1975), Single-A Tampa Tarpons (1976ufffd1977), Double-A Nashville Sounds (1978), and Triple-A Indianapolis Indians (1979ufffd1983).
He also served as first base coach for the Cincinnati Reds during part of the 1984 season under manager Vern Rapp; it was Rapp’s last year as Reds’ manager before being replaced by Pete Rose midway through the 1985 season. From 1986 to 1989, Miller worked as a scouting supervisor for the Chicago White Sox organization.
In retirement, Miller lived in Newark, Delaware; he died there on January 2, 2020 at age 72 after suffering from dementia for several years prior to his death
Wilmington Delaware
The First State is home to some of the best baseball players in the country, and the Delaware Baseball Hall of Fame is proud to induct six new members in 2022. These outstanding athletes have all made significant contributions to the sport of baseball in Delaware, and we look forward to honoring their achievements.
High school football is a big deal in Delaware, and the state has produced some great teams over the years. The Wilmington Blue Bombers have won five state championships, while the Smyrna Eagles have won four. Both teams are perennial contenders for the title, and it’s always exciting when they meet on the gridiron.
The Cincinnati Reds are one of baseball’s most storied franchises, and they boast a rich history dating back to 1869. The team has won five World Series titles and boasts some of the game’s greatest players, including Pete Rose, Johnny Bench, and Barry Larkin. The Reds also have a strong connection to Wilmington, as former Reds manager Sparky Anderson was born and raised in the city.
Bunny Miller was one of Delaware’s most successful high school basketball coaches, leading his team to four consecutive state championships from 1979-1982. He also coached at Wesley College and served as an assistant coach with the Philadelphia 76ers. Coach Miller passed away in 2013 after a long battle with cancer, but his legacy lives on through those who knew him best.
The “a.j. english basketball” is the Delaware Sports Hall of Fame. It was founded in 1968, and has inducted over 500 athletes and coaches from across the world.
