The Missouri Sports Hall of Fame is a museum and hall of fame that honors athletes, coaches, sports journalists and others who have made significant contributions to the history of Missouri sports. The Hall’s mission is to preserve, protect, promote and educate about the state’s rich athletic heritage.

This year’s class includes some of the biggest names in Missouri sports history, including basketball legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, football greats Gale Sayers and Roger Wehrli, and baseball great Stan Musial. Also being inducted are former Missouri Tigers basketball coach Norm Stewart, St. Louis Cardinals owner Bill DeWitt Jr., and longtime Kansas City Chiefs broadcaster Mitch Holthus.

“It is an honor to welcome this outstanding group of individuals into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame,” said John Oxford, president and CEO of the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame. “Their accomplishments on and off the field are truly remarkable, and they have all left a lasting legacy on the state of Missouri.”

The Missouri Sports Hall of Fame has announced its 2022 inductees, which include some of the biggest names in Kansas and Missouri sports history. Among the inductees are former Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Len Dawson, St. Louis Cardinals great Stan Musial, and legendary University of Missouri football coach Gary Pinkel.

Dawson was a three-time Super Bowl champion with the Chiefs and was named MVP of Super Bowl IV. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1987. Musial is considered one of the greatest baseball players of all time. He played 22 seasons with the Cardinals, winning seven World Series titles. Pinkel coached the Tigers for 15 seasons, leading them to two SEC championships and 10 bowl games.

Also being inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame are former Kansas City Royals manager Dick Howser, Olympian Michael Phelps, broadcaster Bob Costas, and basketball player Larry Hughes. The induction ceremony will be held on October 1st, 2022 at The Chase Park Plaza Hotel in St. Louis.

St. Louis sports hall of fame

The St. Louis sports hall of fame is a non-profit organization that honors the greatest athletes, coaches, and contributors to sports in the city of St. Louis and the state of Missouri. The hall of fame was founded in 1939 and currently has over 300 members.

Joplin sports hall of fame

The Joplin Sports Hall of Fame was founded in 2006 to honor the greatest athletes, coaches, and contributors to sports in Joplin, Missouri.

The Hall of Fame currently has over 100 members, including such luminaries as baseball great George Brett and Olympic gold medalist Mike Conley Sr.

The Joplin Sports Hall of Fame is located at the Joplin Athletic Complex and is open to the public year-round.
