Mo Sports Hall of Fame is a sports-themed trivia game that allows players to compete against one another for the chance to win prizes. Players will be able to earn coins by answering questions and playing games with friends.

Introduction

The Kansas Sports Hall of Fame will be inducting nine new members in 2022. The Missouri Sports Hall of Fame will also be adding several new members, though the cost to do so has not yet been announced. Meanwhile, the St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame has already announced its Class of 2022, which includes former Cardinals greats Bob Gibson and Lou Brock. And the Springfield Sports Hall of Fame will be honoring 12 local athletes and coaches at its annual banquet next month.

History

The Kansas Sports Hall of Fame was founded in 1961 with the mission of honoring and preserving the great history of sports in our state. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization supported by our members, donors, and volunteers. We have inducted over 500 individuals and 30 teams into our hall since our founding.

Our 2021 Induction Banquet will be held on Saturday, October 2nd at Kansas City’s Union Station. Our 2022 class will be announced in early 2022.

Inductees

The Kansas Sports Hall of Fame has announced its 2022 class of inductees, which includes some of the state’s most accomplished athletes, coaches, and contributors. Among the honorees are former Major League Baseball players Mike Sweeney and Al Cowens, Olympic gold medalist swimmer Amy Van Dyken-Rouen, Kansas City Chiefs head coach Dick Vermeil, and longtime college athletics administrator Lew Perkins.

This year’s class will be formally inducted at the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame induction banquet on October 22, 2022. Tickets to the event are now on sale and can be purchased through the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame website or by calling (316) 262-2038.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame, an athlete must be a native Kansan or have been a resident of the state for at least five years. Athletes must also be retired from their sport for at least three years.

The Missouri Sports Hall of Fame has different eligibility requirements depending on the category in which an athlete is being nominated. For example, athletes must be retired from their sport for at least five years to be eligible for induction into the hall of fame. Coaches and contributors are not subject to this requirement.

The St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame has similar eligibility requirements to Missouri, with a few exceptions. One exception is that an athlete only needs to be retired from their sport for two years to be eligible, rather than five. Another exception is that there is no waiting period for coaches and contributors ufffd they can be inducted immediately after they retire or are otherwise no longer active in their field.

The Springfield Sports Hall of Fame has different eligibility requirements depending on the category in which an individual is being nominated. For athletes, they must have been out of high school for at least ten years and must have made significant contributions to sports in Springfield or Greene County. For coaches, they must have coached high school or college level athletics in Springfield or Greene County for at least ten years. And finally, contributors must have made significant contributions to sports in Springfield or Greene County through their work as officials, administrators, broadcasters, etc.

The Hall of Fame was founded in 1966 and has been located in Wichita, Kansas since its inception. The Hall honors both men and women who have made outstanding contributions to sports in Kansas.

The Missouri Sports Hall of Fame is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with a mission to preserve and promote the stateufffds rich sports heritage. The Missouri Sports Hall of Fame was founded in 1971 and is located in Springfield, Missouri. The Hall honors both men and women who have made significant contributions to sports in Missouri through their athletic achievements, coaching efforts, or other contributions to the sporting community.

The St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame is dedicated to preserving the history of sports in St. Louis and honoring those who have made significant contributions to the cityufffds sporting heritage. The Hall was founded in 1945 and is located in downtown St. Louis, Missouri. The Hall inducts new members annually at its Induction Ceremony & Gala, which is held each fall.

2022:

Sports fans rejoice! It has been announced that the class of 2022 for the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame will be inducted on October 1st, 2022! This yearufffds class includes some true legends of Kansas athletics including former University of Kansas basketball coach Roy Williams, Olympian Carl Lewis, NFL quarterback Len Dawson, and Major League Baseball player George Brett. These athletes will be honored at the annual induction ceremony which will be held at the Wichita Boathouse district next to Exploration Place Science Museum . The Kansas Sports Hall of Fame will be hosting their 2022 Induction Banquet on Saturday, April 2nd at the Kansas Star Casino in Mulvane, KS. The event will start with a reception at 6:00pm, followed by dinner and the induction ceremony at 7:00pm. The Missouri Sports Hall of Fame will be holding their Annual enshrinement banquet on Friday, May 5th at the Chateau on the Lake in Branson, MO. The event will begin with a social hour at 6:00pm followed by dinner and the induction ceremony at 7:00pm. The St Louis Sports Hall of Fame will host their 55th annual Enshrinement Ceremony on Saturday November 4th, 2017 at America’s Center Convention Complex in St Louis MO . -Bob Frederick, a star athlete at Wichita East High School and the University of Kansas who went on to play professional baseball for 11 seasons.

-Dr. James Naismith, the inventor of basketball who was born in Almonte, Ontario but spent much of his life in Lawrence, Kansas where he coached at the University of Kansas.

-Earl Watson, a native of Dodge City who played college football at Pittsburg State University before embarking on a successful career in law enforcement.
