The Texas Sports Hall of Fame is the only place in the world where you can find a complete collection of sports memorabilia, including the first ever baseball card. It was established by the Texas Legislature in 1951 and has been housed at the University of North Texas since 1962. The museum boasts more than 10,000 square feet of display space with over 100,000 items.

2022 Inductees
The Texas Sports Hall of Fame is pleased to announce its 2022 inductees. The class is led by former NFL quarterback and two-time Super Bowl champion Drew Brees, who will be joined by fellow gridiron greats Ed “Too Tall” Jones and Fred Biletnikoff.
Also being enshrined are golfing legend Nancy Lopez, track & field star Carl Lewis, basketball star Clyde Drexler, and media members Skip Bayless and Mark Cuban.

2021 Inductees
The Texas Sports Hall of Fame is pleased to announce its 2021 induction class. This year’s class includes some of the biggest names in Texas sports history, spanning a wide range of disciplines and achievements.
Among the inductees are former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach, University of Texas men’s basketball coach Rick Barnes, Pro Football Hall of Famer Michael Irvin, and legendary high school football coach G.A. Moore Jr.
Other notable inductees include golfer Nancy Lopez, track and field star Mike Conley Sr., and media members Mark Berman of FOX 26 Houston and Steve Tyrell of KILT 610 AM.

2020 Inductees
The 2020 Texas Sports Hall of Fame Inductees were announced today and they are an impressive and accomplished group. The list includes former NFL player Michael Strahan, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, golf legend Arnold Palmer, and media personality Nancy Lieberman. These individuals have all made significant contributions to the world of sports and will be rightfully honored with their induction into the Hall of Fame.
Strahan is a retired defensive end who played for the New York Giants from 1993-2007. During his time with the team, he won a Super Bowl championship and was named to the Pro Bowl seven times. He currently serves as a co-host on the television show Good Morning America.
Jones has been the owner of the Dallas Cowboys since 1989 and under his leadership, the team has won three Super Bowl championships (1992, 1993, 1995). He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2017.
Palmer is considered one of the greatest golfers of all time and he has racked up numerous accomplishments over his career including winning four Masters titles and two British Open Championships. He was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1974.
Lieberman is a basketball legend who played in both college (Old Dominion University) and professional leagues (USBL, WNBA). She was named one of ESPN’s Top 25 Female Athletes of All Time in 2000 and she was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1996. She currently serves as an analyst for NBA TV.
The 2020 class will be formally inducted during a ceremony at The San Antonio Country Club on October 12th.
2019 Inductees
The Texas Sports Hall of Fame will induct eight new members in 2019. The class includes former Major League Baseball player Reggie Jackson, former college football coach Mack Brown, and former professional golfer Nancy Lopez.
Jackson, nicknamed “Mr. October” for his outstanding postseason performances, played 21 seasons with the New York Yankees, Oakland Athletics, and California Angels. He was a 14-time All-Star and helped the Yankees win five World Series titles. Jackson was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1993.
Brown coached the University of Texas Longhorns football team for 16 seasons, winning the national championship in 2005. He also led the Longhorns to 13 bowl game appearances and is the winningest coach in school history. Brown retired from coaching in 2013 and currently serves as a college football analyst for ESPN.
Lopez enjoyed a successful career on the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) tour, winning 48 tournaments between 1977 and 1989. She was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1987 and the LPGA Tour Hall of Fame in 1995.

The Texas Sports Hall of Fame is pleased to announce its 2018 inductees. This year’s class includes some of the biggest names in Texas sports history, including former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach, San Antonio Spurs legend George Gervin, and Houston Astros great Craig Biggio.
Other inductees include golfer Nancy Lopez, track and field star Carl Lewis, and former University of Texas football coach Mack Brown.
This year’s class will be formally inducted at the annual induction ceremony on February 23rd, 2019 at the Waco Convention Center.
2017 Inductees
The 2017 inductees into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame are a varied and accomplished group, ranging from legendary football players to groundbreaking journalists.
Football greats Michael Irvin and Jerry Jones headline the class, which also includes golfer Nancy Lopez, track star Carl Lewis, and sports journalist Lesley Visser.
Irvin, who played for the Dallas Cowboys from 1988 to 1999, is one of the most decorated wide receivers in NFL history. He was a three-time Super Bowl champion and was named to the Pro Bowl five times. Jones bought the Cowboys in 1989 and has presided over one of the most successful periods in franchise history, winning three Super Bowls.
Lopez became one of golf’s biggest stars in the 1970s and ’80s, winning 48 LPGA Tour events. She was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1987. Lewis is considered one of the greatest track & field athletes of all time. He won nine Olympic gold medals, including four at the 1984 Games in Los Angeles.
Visser made history in 2006 when she became the first woman to serve as a sportscaster for an NFL game on television when she called play-by-play for CBS’s coverage of a New England Patriots-New York Jets game. She is also a member of both the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association Hall of Fame and American Sportscasters Association Hall of Fame.
2016 Inductees
The Texas Sports Hall of Fame announced their 2016 inductees earlier this week and the list includes some of the biggest names in Texas sports history. Among the 10 individuals being inducted are former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman, San Antonio Spurs star Tim Duncan and Houston Astros great Craig Biggio.
Aikman was born and raised in Henryetta, Oklahoma but played his college ball at the University of Oklahoma before being drafted by the Cowboys with the first overall pick in 1989. He would go on to spend his entire 12-year NFL career with Dallas, winning three Super Bowls and being named Super Bowl MVP in 1993. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2006.
Duncan is a native of St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands but moved to San Antonio as a teenager to attend high school there. After a standout college career at Wake Forest, he was drafted by the Spurs with the first overall pick in 1997 and would go on to spend his entire 19-year NBA career with San Antonio, winning five championships and becoming one of the greatest power forwards in league history along the way. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2020.
Biggio also has local ties, as he grew up in Houston and played his college ball at Seton Hall before being drafted by his hometown Astros in 1987. He spent his entire 20-year MLB career with Houston, racking up 3,060 hits (the most ever by an Astro), 291 home runs and 1,175 RBI while also being named to seven All-Star teams. He was inducted into baseball’s Hall of Fame in 2015.
2015 Inductees
The Texas Sports Hall of Fame announced their 2015 inductees today. The class includes some of the biggest names in Texas sports history, including former NFL quarterback Troy Aikman, NBA player Clyde Drexler, and Olympic gold medalist Carl Lewis.
This year’s class also includes two posthumous inductees: Ewing Kauffman, the late owner of the Kansas City Royals baseball team, and John David Crow, a former Heisman Trophy winner and NFL running back.
The induction ceremony will be held on February 28th at the Waco Convention Center. Tickets are available now through the Texas Sports Hall of Fame website.
